Mike Patterson

Michael Patterson (Métis/Iroquois) is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and a Research Associate of the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network. He has been active in Aboriginal community health research and capacity building for over 15 years. He has worked with many First Nations Elders, communities and NGOs in areas such as HIV/AIDS and injury prevention, and he developed the first graduate seminar in Aboriginal health at the School of Nursing at the University of Ottawa where he did his postdoctoral work. He is currently working on telehealth for Aboriginal peoples and online community health networks.
