Zhi Yuan (Wayne) Wang was the Canada Research Chair in Emerging Organic Material from November, 2000 to December of 2014. He was the first CRC at Carleton University. His research involved the study of electrical and optical properties of organic solids and polymers that emit or absorb light. His objective was to use synthetic polymers to boost the performance efficiency of various optoelectronic devices.
Wayne Wang retired after last serving as Professor Emeritus in the Department of Chemistry.
