Carleton, along with the SNOLAB Institute and their Canadian and international partners, will announce the grand opening of SNOLAB at an event in Lively, Ontario on Thursday, May 17, 2012. SNOLAB is an underground research facility situated two kilometres beneath the surface of the Earth. It is located at the site of the Vale Creighton Mine near Sudbury, Ontario.

Members of the media and the general public are invited to watch the announcement of the lab’s opening by streaming video.
