Carleton University’s Initiative for Parliamentary and Diplomatic Engagement – with the support of M.P. James Rajotte, chair of the Standing Committee on Finance; M.P. Peter Julian, Official Opposition critic for Energy and Natural Resources; and M.P. David McGuinty, Liberal critic for Energy and Natural Resources – invites you to attend a special panel on Canada’s energy future for parliamentarians, diplomats and stakeholders who have an energy relationship with Canada. A networking reception will follow.
Dr. André Plourde, dean of the Faculty of Public Affairs and professor of economics at Carleton University, will moderate of an armchair discussion about what it will take for Canada to be a competitive successful energy supplier, including competitive pressures, social licence issues, foreign investment in strategic resource industries and other topics of concern to Members of Parliament and their constituents.
Panelists have combined direct international, national and provincial experience in the oil, oil sands, natural gas and electricity industries. They have also contributed to the development of federal and provincial policy related to energy, the environment, sustainable development, innovative technology and carbon management.
