Celtic knots may seem complex, but, with an understanding of the mathematics behind them, the secrets behind these patterns can be revealed.

Join Angelo Mingarelli as he demonstrates how to manufacture intricate Celtic-looking patterns in a straightforward way. The discussion will include of review of the history of the Lindisfarne Gospels, in which these patterns are prominently displayed.

Where: Ottawa Public Library, Sunnyside Branch, 1049 Bank Street.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm.

The free 20-minute discussion will be followed by a question and answer session.  The Science Café series takes place every second Wednesday until Dec. 11, 2013.
