On November 5th, Dr. Fraser Taylor,Distinguished Research Professor and Director of the Geomatics and Cartographic Research Centre gave an invited lecture to the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation in Barcelona.

The lecture was entitled “Monetizing Geospatial Values and Practices for National Development: Geoinformation for  the ‘Age of Location”.

The Chamber organised the event in honour of the 30th anniversary of the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia.

The event was by invitation only and was attended by over 100 senior government officials and industry leaders including several ministers and former ministers of the Government of Catalonia. It was held in the historic Golden Room of the Chamber’s headquarters, the Casa Llotja de Mar which dates from the 13th century.
