Carleton University is bringing together a broad range of researchers and activists from community organizations based in Ottawa and the university for Beyond the Ivory Tower – Highlighting Carleton Community Engaged Research. This event is presented as part of 2014 FPA Research Month.

Beyond the Ivory Tower highlights the linkages between the researchers in the Faculty of Public Affairs and the broader community, and promotes discussion around the challenges and best practices in community-university collaboration. Topics of discussion will range from food system sustainability, to women and participatory governance in Ottawa, and the preservation of workers’ history. Participants will make brief informal presentations discussing the nature of their community-engaged research.
