Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellowship will also be announced

Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communication presents the 15th Annual Kesterton Lecture featuring Nahlah Ayed, CBC foreign correspondent. Ayed’s presentation is entitled, What falls from the sky: Predicting the future in the Arab world. This event is presented as part of 2014 FPA Research Month.

The evening will begin with the announcement of this year’s R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellowship winner by Christopher Waddell, director of the School of Journalism and Communication.

When: March 11, 2014, Doors open at 6:30 p.m., Lecture and fellowship announcement at 7:00 p.m., Reception to follow.

Nahlah Ayed is a CBC foreign correspondent based in London and a graduate of Carleton’s School of Journalism and Communication (MJ/97). For the better part of a decade, she has lived in and covered the Middle East for CBC television, radio and online, including the Arab Spring, conflicts in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan and most recently reporting from the Sochi Olympics. She is also author of A Thousand Farewells: A Reporter’s Journey from Refugee Camp to the Arab Spring.
