McHugh’s focus is on political philosophy, public law and comparative politics, particularly the study of Canada and North America. He has also recently completed a detailed study on reforming the Canadian Senate.
His Fulbright research project will explore the convergence of values between Canada, the United States and Mexico and to what extent North America is developing a sense of political and social community along with greater economic integration.
