Carleton University graduate Tracey Lauriault is included in Silicon Republic’s 2014 100 top women in science, technology, engineering and maths. Lauriault is a post-doctoral researcher at the National Institute for Regional and Spatial Analysis (NIRSA), working as part of the ERC-funded Programmable City Project. She was a postdoctoral fellow and a graduate student at Carleton ‘s Geomatics and Cartographic Research Centre (GCRC) from 2002-2013.
“It is a great honour to be in the company of this fantastic group of women, and I look forward to continue to be actively engaged in the work of critically discussing open data, big data and data infrastructures as part of the Programmable City Project with Rob Kitchin,” said Lauriault. “It is also thanks to Fraser Taylor and the team at the GCRC for providing the training ground for me to be able to do this work.”
“Tracey is to be congratulated on this well-deserved recognition of her ongoing work,” said Killam Award-winner Fraser Taylor, distinguished research professor and director of the GCRC. “She continues to be a valuable member of the research team at the GCRC from her new base in Ireland.”
Her research involves data, infrastructures and geographical imaginations and spatial data infrastructures. She is a member of the Science of Data Committee at Carleton and the international Research Data Alliance Legal Interoperability Working Group.
