Carleton University biologist Tom Sherratt and his former PhD student Justin Carroll were recently awarded the inaugural “Paper of the Year” award by the Journal of Zoology, an international journal which started out in 1830 and covers the broad field of zoology. The Paper of the Year Award is presented annually to the authors of an original research paper that the Editors consider exemplifies excellence in zoology. The 2013 winners won for their paper A direct comparison of the effectiveness of two anti-predator strategies under field conditions.
