Carleton University’s David Carment, a senior fellow at the Centre for Global Cooperation Research, professor at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) and editor of the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal (CFPJ), is pleased to announce the release of the latest issue of CFPJ. This special issue focuses on the Canada-United States defence relationship and was guest edited by Prof. Ken Holland of Ball State University.

“This issue was a combined effort of American and Canadian academics to review our special relationship and to provide insights on its future,” says Carment.

Articles cover a range of topics, including Canadian and American strategic cultures, Canada’s UAV procurement, the “home-grown” terrorism issue, Canada-U.S. security co-operation in the Arctic and Canada’s naval response to America’s Asia pivot. Also included is an award winning paper by Christian Leuprecht on political demography and Canada-United States security co-operation.

“Published articles represent the best peer-reviewed papers from two workshops held at George Mason University in Washington and Carleton University,” said Carment. “We are grateful to the Department of National Defence for their support of both these events.”

CFPJ is particularly pleased to announce that starting with this issue its affiliate website iaffairscanada.com will be hosting a discussion and debate featuring Leuprecht’s article. That article will be freely accessible to members of the public, who are encouraged to participate in the debate. For more information, please visit: http://www.iaffairscanada.com/policy-outreach

CFPJ is published by NPSIA at Carleton University and is now in its 21st year.
