Trebek Initiative – Research Grant
Overview
The Trebek Initiative funds storytellers, educators, conservationists, innovators and researchers who are documenting Canadian Indigenous land, wildlife, water, culture, and history. They are interested in:
· Projects that explore unique ecozones in Canada,
· Scientific research on Canadian wildlife, wilderness, or water
· Photography exposition on unique Canadian geographies and communities
· New tools to create a better understanding of our environment.
Funding Value and Duration
Maximum of $100K CAD, although project budgets should be submitted in USD to a max of $70K USD
Duration: Typically, 12-18 months
Eligibility Criteria
The Trebek Initiative funds projects in four categories: (1) storytelling, (2) research, (3) conservation, and (4) education, and must overlap with at least one of the focus areas: (1) land, (2) water, (3) wildlife, (4) culture, and (5) history.
Project start dates must be at least six months after the submission deadline. Canadian residency is preferred but not required. Projects must be located in Canada. Applicants may submit a proposal as the project leader for only one project at a time. Unsuccessful applications are not permitted for resubmission.
