- is a source of environmental monitoring and research in the Northwest Territories
- coordinates, conducts and funds the collection, analysis and reporting of information related to environmental conditions in the NWTi
- its goal is to support better resource management decision-making and sustainable development in the territory by;
- furthering our understanding of cumulative impacts and environmental trends
- the program is administered by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT)
