The Canadian Institutes of Health Research<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)<\/a> is Canada’s federal funding agency for health research. Composed of 13 Institutes, we collaborate with partners and researchers to support the discoveries and innovations that improve our health and strengthen our health care system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CIHR was created in 2000 under the authority of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Act<\/a><\/em>. It is an independent agency and is accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CIHR has created a guidebook<\/a> intended for all researchers who write grant applications in any area of health research (including basic biomedical research and clinical research).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
