Funding Value and Duration<\/h2>\n

Eligible projects can receive up to $300,000 in funding, which is shared equally between OCI and the SME. Specifically, OCI contributes $150,000, and the SME also contributes $150,000. The SME\u2019s contribution is divided into two parts: $75,000 is provided as cash directly to the institution, and the remaining $75,000 is used for in-house expenses at the company location.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overview<\/h2>\n

This program supports the collaboration between Academia and Industry to solve an industry-based problem and drive the commercialization of Intellectual Property [IP]. The institution will leverage the unique skills and specialized infrastructure that is instrumental to streamline internal innovations and commercialization needs. Resulting in targeted training of individuals and direct engagement with Industry to work on commercially viable solutions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Projects must be led by an Ontario-based SME in partnership with at least one Ontario- based academic institution (e.g. University, College or Teaching Hospital).
\n\u2022 Companies must demonstrate the ability to commercialize the technology within a reasonable timeframe.
\n\u2022 The collaboration should leverage unique capabilities and resources from both industry and academia.
\n\u2022 Projects should have a clear path to market and potential for significant economic and health impacts in Ontario. (e.g. potential to create jobs, attract investment, and contribute to Ontario’s life sciences ecosystem).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
