Overview<\/h2>\n

The Lotte & John Hecht Memorial Foundation will support high-risk\/high-reward proof-of-principle basic science\/preclinical projects in the field of cancer research. Eligible projects will not fit traditional funding mechanisms and have not received previous grants\/awards. Preliminary data is not required.<\/p>\n

Proposals may originate from emerging or established researchers within their field of expertise or may be inspired by innovations and discoveries from adjacent or non-related areas, including further exploration of collateral findings discovered \u2018by accident\u2019, and\/or other methods. Proposal hypotheses should be based on extensive literature review and logical substantiation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Applications from Canadian qualified donees, including both single- and multi-investigator teams.
\nIneligible expenses include indirect costs, lead investigator and co-PI compensation, and large capital expenses<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Submissions will be made through the Foundation\u2019s online application portal; please email health@hecht.org\u202fto request access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressions of Intent<\/span> must consist of two-page description of the proposed idea, its novelty and need, and a high-level description of methodology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full applications<\/span> are open by invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
