CORIS has opened registration for interest in the National Killam Program Awards<\/a>. You are invited to submit an internal registration form <\/a> to nominate yourself or an eligible colleague.<\/p>\n

Carleton University is committed to achieving a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive research enterprise to create the excellent, innovative, and impactful research necessary to advance knowledge and understanding, and to respond to local, national, and global challenges.<\/p>\n

We encourage registrations for nomination to the Killam Program Awards from all eligible candidates, including candidates from equity-deserving groups.<\/p>\n

Award categories<\/b><\/p>\n

The Killam Prizes ($100,000) <\/b>are awarded to active Canadian scholars who have distinguished themselves through sustained research excellence, making a significant impact in their respective fields in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences, and engineering. Normally, one prize is awarded each year in each of five disciplines. Previous Killam Prize winners are listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The Dorothy Killam Fellowships ($160,000 over 2 years) <\/b>provide support to scholars of exceptional ability by granting them time to pursue research projects of broad significance and widespread interest within the disciplines of the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences, engineering, or studies linking any of these disciplines. These Fellowships are awarded to researchers who usually completed their PhD no more than 15 years prior, though special circumstances may result in applicants being more or less than 15 years post-PhD. Between 5 and 8 fellowships are awarded annually. Previous Dorothy Killam Fellowship winners are listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Killam NRC Paul Corkum Fellowships ($150,000 over 1 year)<\/b> create opportunities for mid-to-late career Canadian and international scholars to collaborate with <\/span>National Research Council <\/b>(NRC) researchers. External scholars will gain access the NRC’s unique infrastructure and resources, and work with an NRC researcher. U<\/span>p to three fellowships will be awarded each year, and each fellowship project must align with an NRC Challenge program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Special requirements:<\/b> The candidate\u2019s home faculty must approve the teaching and administrative release funded through the Dorothy Killam Fellowship and the Killam NRC Paul Corkum Fellowship.<\/p>\n

                Dorothy Killam Fellowships: May 22, 2025 (Preliminary abstract due April 30, 2025).<\/p>\n

                Killam NRC Paul Corkum Fellowships: June 5, 2025<\/p>\n

Development of nomination package: <\/b>Institutional and faculty-based research facilitators will support eligible candidates in the development of their nomination packages.
