The MITACS Accelerate links students and postdocs with eligible industry partners through mutually beneficial, paid research internships (4-6 months per internship).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications must address one of the <strong>following themes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Agriculture, Agri-food &amp; Aquaculture<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Digital- Artificial intelligence, Quantum, ICT<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Biomanufacturing, Biotechnology, and Life &amp; Health Sciences<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clean technology<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special Discount Enhanced Funding:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>$15,000 per internship unit (IU): <\/strong>$5,000 partner contribution + $10,000 Mitacs contribution; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>$17,500 per internship unit (IU): <\/strong>$7,500 partner contribution + $10,000 Mitacs contribution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong> The partner contribution is subject to applicable taxes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This special call is subject to the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only available under the <strong>Accelerate program<\/strong>, (special discount funding is not available for other programs such as the Accelerate International, BSI program or Joint MITACS-NSERC \/ Joint MITACS-SSHRC funding streams)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offer is available for <strong>new submissions only<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All applications must include <strong>named interns<\/strong> to be considered. <strong>Maximum of 6 (six) discounted internship units per named intern at the time of submission<\/strong>. Interns can have more than 6 internship units. However, any additional units beyond the first 6 will be at standard funding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standard funding will apply for any unnamed internship units (To Be Determined: \u201cTBD\u201d). <strong>TBD internship units will not be eligible for this special offer.<\/strong> Once students are identified, they remain at standard funding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Total limit of<\/strong> <strong>50 IUs<\/strong> per project (including discounted and standard funding internship units).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-submission and in-project changes to internship dates and intern replacements will be allowed for the discounted and standard funding units. <strong>No additional internship units will be discounted following submission<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deadline to apply is February 9, 2024.<\/strong> Offer will end on February 9, 2024, or when MITACS has reached a total number of 3,000 internship units across all eligible sectors included in these special offers, whichever occurs first.
