\n Joint Mitacs\u2013NSERC – Program Update\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Mitacs and NSERC have signed an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for 2025\u20132026, which brings changes to the joint application process, funding eligibility, and submission requirements. Here\u2019s a breakdown of what\u2019s changing and how it may affect your planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transition Period \u2013 Old Application Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Joint Mitacs\u2013NSERC applications using the current format<\/strong>\u00a0can still be submitted until May 30, 2025<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. If an application under the old method is declined after May 30<\/strong>, it must be resubmitted under:\n
      \n
    1. The new<\/strong> joint &\u00a0 <\/strong>streamlined <\/strong>application p<\/strong>rocess<\/strong> (see below)<\/strong>, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. As a standalone Mitacs Accelerate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      New <\/strong>Joint<\/strong> Application Process for 2025-2026 submissions (Effective April 16, 2025)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Part 1<\/strong>: Submitted with the NSERC application. It outlines the connection to the NSERC project, describes the Mitacs internship goals, and includes an intern recruitment plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Part 2<\/strong>: Submitted only after Part 1 approval<\/strong>. This form is used to name interns and activate the internship units for the project.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

         Key Deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
