Applications that have a lower risk level will receive less scrutiny than applications with a higher risk level.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"toggle_container\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"how-much-time-does-it-take-the-reb-to-review-a-submission\" class=\"wp-block-heading trigger active\"><b><span class=\"slide-cu_people_job_title\">How much time does it take the REB to review a submission?<\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"trigger active\">Initial feedback from the REB varies depending on the level of ethics review and the response time of the applicant\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"toggle_container\">\n<ul>\n<li>Minimal risk reviews, course clearances and administrative reviews take two to three weeks on average; whereas,<\/li>\n<li>Full REB reviews take four to six weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During busy periods the review time may be longer. If you have not heard from us during this time, we encourage you to follow up at with a Research Ethics and Compliance Coordinator.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"trigger active\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"how-do-i-get-feedback-from-the-reb\" class=\"wp-block-heading trigger active\"><b><span class=\"slide-cu_people_job_title\">How do I get feedback from the REB?<\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"trigger active\">Once your proposal has been reviewed, you will be notified by e-mail. Your application will be assigned one of the following recommendations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>accept as is<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>minor revisions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>major revisions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>refusal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"toggle_container\">If you are told that your ethics application needs minor or major revisions, you will receive feedback from the reviewers as to what needs to be revised in your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"toggle_container\">Once you have made the revisions (underlining and bolding any changes on your application), send the revised application back by <a href=\"mailto:ethics@carleton.ca\">email<\/a> (for CUREB-A applications) or through the <a href=\"https:\/\/ovpri.research.carleton.ca\/Romeo.Researcher\/Login.aspx?Returncu_people_website=%2fRomeo.Researcher%2f\">CuResearch platform<\/a>&nbsp;(for CUREB-B applications).
