Overview

ORF SIF provides research institutions with funding to support infrastructure needs such as modern facilities and equipment. Specifically, it helps cover the costs of acquiring/renewing research equipment, including specimens, scientific collections, computer software or information databases. It co-funds infrastructure acquisitions with the John R. Evans Leaders Fund through the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI JELF).

The funding for an infrastructure acquisition comes from various sources:

Eligibility

Research projects and institutions that are eligible for CFI JELF funding are also eligible for ORF SIF funding.

Special Requirements

Applications for ORF SIF funding must first be submitted to CFI JELF.
