PromoScience
The PromoScience program is designed to spark interest among Canadian youth in the natural sciences and engineering (NSE) and encourage them to consider science careers. Grants are offered to organizations working with young Canadians, particularly underrepresented groups who are in elementary and/or high school (including the equivalent first year of CEGEP), and their teachers to promote an understanding of NSE, including mathematics and technology. Proposed activities should develop NSE skills and interests, provide hands-on learning experiences, initiate new instruction and resources for teachers, or inspire young Canadians to eventually pursue NSE research and/or careers, or some combination of these objectives. Activities that encourage Indigenous undergraduate students to pursue graduate studies in the NSE can also be proposed.
Visit the Natural Sciences and Engineering Council of Canada (NSERC) website for more information on the PromoScience program.

How to Apply
Internal Process
Due to the quota and required institutional signature, potential applicants must submit an online internal Expression of Interest (EOI) to the Carleton Office for Research Initiatives and Services (CORIS) and the relevant Faculty Research Office.
Internal Evaluation
If the number of interested candidates exceeds the institutional quota, a committee will be struck to rank the candidates and determine which will proceed to the external competition.
External Submission Steps
- Submit an internal Carleton Approval Form through our central awards management database cuResearch.
- With support from CORIS and the Faculty Research Office, the lead Principal Investigator (PI) will develop an application package. Visit the Call for Applications webpage for detailed instructions. CORIS will coordinate the required institutional signatures. Completed application packages are submitted directly to NSERC using the ICSP Secure Submission Site.
