Overview

The CHS Dream of a Cure Research Program, through funds provided by the Hemophilia Research Million Dollar Club and Canadian Hemophilia Society, supports research focused on improving the health and the quality of life of all people with inherited bleeding disorders and finding a cure. The Canadian Hemophilia Society invites applicants to apply for basic scientific research grants in fields relevant to hemophilia A and B, von Willebrand disease, rare factor deficiencies, platelet function disorders (and platelet pathophysiology) and other congenital and acquired bleeding disorders.

Value and Duration

Individual grants valued at $75,000 per year and per project will be awarded to researchers for a maximum of $150,000 which can be expended over two or three years. If a two-year award is provided, the second year of funding is dependent on evidence of progress as described in the required progress report. Grant funding will begin on April 1 of each year.

Yearly grants will normally be disbursed in two payments in each year.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and affiliated with a Canadian university or not-for-profit health-related organization.
