Description
Brain Canada Foundation, in partnership with the Women’s Brain Health Initiative and with support from the Government of Canada, has launched the Accelerator Grants: Migraine Research program to catalyze bold, innovative research focused on migraine. The program is designed to accelerate discoveries that have the potential to transform the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of migraine.
The program will support research that advances our understanding of the causes, risk factors, and symptoms of migraine, including, but not limited to, the biological underpinnings of the condition; the identification of biomarkers to enhance prevention, diagnosis, and treatment management; and the development and testing of novel therapies or interventions. Projects must consider the influence of sex- and gender-related factors in the design, analysis, and evaluation of the research given the disproportionate impact of migraine on women.
Funding Value
$160,000 over 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria
Teams must include a minimum of two independent investigators, with one designated as the Principal Investigator.
Investigators must be affiliated with eligible Canadian academic institutions for duration of grant.
