Call for Nominations — Carleton Intellectual Property Impact Award 2026
Nominations for the Carleton Intellectual Property (IP) Impact Award 2026 are now open!
In celebration of World IP Day on April 26, 2026, the Carleton Innovation Transfer Office (CITO), within Industry Partnership Services (IPS), is excited to announce the Carleton IP Impact Award 2026. Building on the success of our inaugural award in 2025, this year’s award continues to celebrate Carleton researchers, whose groundbreaking work extends beyond academia, driving successful knowledge mobilization, commercialization and meaningful economic, social or environmental impact.
We invite you to nominate deserving team(s) or submit a self-nomination to highlight your impactful research. Nominated teams will be showcased and the award recipients will be honored at the Carleton IP Impact Award event at Carleton’s campus in Kanata on May 14, 2026.
Eligibility
The original IP development of the nominated team must have been led by a Carleton faculty member from any discipline. Previous engagement with CITO is not a requirement. We encourage both new nominations and the re-submission of nominations from the 2025 award.

- Problem-Solution: novelty, fit, intellectual property created, etc.
- Mobilization/Commercialization Efforts and Status
- Demonstrated Success in Collaboration: with an external partner for development, knowledge transfer and/or commercialization
- Current Impact and Feasibility of Potential Future Impacts: economic, social or environmental
