Overview

Parkinson’s Foundation Impact Awards support high-risk, high-reward research that has the potential to transform our understanding of Parkinson’s disease (PD), establish new directions in PD research, or accelerate the development of novel interventions. The program is designed to fund groundbreaking and unconventional ideas that may be too early-stage or innovative for traditional funding mechanisms.

Projects may be submitted to one of two streams: Foundational Research, which supports basic and mechanistic studies that advance understanding of PD biology and disease processes, or Translational Research, which focuses on moving promising discoveries closer to clinical application through target validation, therapeutic development, biomarker advancement, and preclinical proof-of-concept studies.

Projects are intended to generate compelling preliminary data that can support future funding and long-term impact in the Parkinson’s research field.
