Description

The Drummond Foundation is inviting applications for its 2026 Research Grants from investigators working in Canada who are engaged in ageing‑related research aimed at improving the quality of life of older adults, particularly those who are socially, mentally, or physically disadvantaged, as well as their families and caregivers.

The 2026 funding theme, “Interventions on Healthy and Vulnerable Ageing Populations,” emphasizes research projects that are clinically relevant and action‑oriented, with clear potential to inform or improve practices, policies, or services for ageing populations. Particular importance is placed on knowledge transfer, innovation, and the potential for real‑world impact on the care and well‑being of older adults.

Funding Value

Up to $30,000 CAD for a 1 year project.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be early‑career investigators, defined as within 10 years of their first academic or research appointment.

Applicants must be new to the Drummond Foundation, having not previously received a Drummond Foundation research grant.

How to Apply

The application process consists of two phases:

  1. Letter of Intent (LOI)
  2. Full Research Proposal (by invitation)

Letters of Intent are reviewed to assess fit with the Foundation’s mandate and 2026 priority theme. Successful applicants will be invited to submit a full Research Proposal, which will be evaluated by the Drummond Foundation’s Scientific Advisor and a panel of external reviewers.
