Research Development Grants (Coming Soon)
Research Development Grants provide modest financial support to researchers to:.
- to re-apply to the next NSERC Discovery Grant, SSHRC Insight Grant or SSHRC Insight Development Grant program after an unsuccessful result in the same competition
- for bridge-fund their programs of research, including graduate students, until the competition results of the next cycle.

Competition Frequency: Annual
Value: Up to $10,000 per application
Duration: 12 months maximum (no extensions)

CU RDG NSE and SSHRC Explore Insight: May 29, 2026
SSHRC Explore Insight Development Grant: June 30, 2026
Important Notes:
- The cuResearch Approval Form must be fully approved by all signing authorities by the application deadline date.
- Late applications will not be accepted
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted
- Ineligible costs will be debited from the amount requested
- Proposals related to ineligible subject matter will not be accepted
- Applicants may only apply to one of the CU Research Development Grants streams: NSE RDG, SSHRC Explore or Health RDG (if offered) per annum.
