“My program will provide government agencies in Canada with tools and instruments to support the Directive on Automated Decision Making.”

Professor Ojo’s research program will inform and support the development of governance mechanisms for trustworthy AI-enabled public services. Through transdisciplinary research approaches, the Chair will 1) investigate the stakeholders’ expectations to establish governance requirements regarding the use of AI; 2) develop the needed theoretical frameworks and mechanisms to ensure that the use of AI in public services creates public benefits and furthers agency goals; and 3) establish empirical evidence on how the developed mechanisms affect stakeholders’ perception of AI and organizational trustworthiness. The program will provide government agencies in Canada with tools and instruments to support the Directive on Automated Decision Making.
