A Distinguished Research Professor Emerita in the School of Public Policy & Administration, Mahon has been honoured with the 2024 Ursula Franklin Award in Gender Studies which recognizes contributions to furthering our understanding of issues concerning gender. The prestigious award is offered every two years. Mahon’s recent research is focused on the politics of childcare policy development, examining how governments and organizations are responding to women’s rising labour force participation rates.
