Carleton’s David Carment, a professor at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and editor of the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal, has published a special issue that examines a number of important aspects of secession, including:

“The recent election in Quebec serves as a reminder that questions of secession are just as important to Canada now as they have ever been,” said Carment.

Other articles in this issue focus on the importance and evolution of diplomacy in foreign policy-making, Canada’s approach to building sovereignty in the Arctic and to managing successful humanitarian interventions.
