Oil, coal, natural gas, renewables and nuclear power are all covered, together with an update on climate change issues. Special strategic analyses will also cover energy efficiency, the Iraqi energy sector, the water-energy nexus and energy poverty.

The event will also include an open discussion forum for questions and answers. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required at this page. Media are invited to attend.

About the World Energy Outlook:
The annual WEO is the International Energy Agency’s flagship publication, widely recognized as the most credible, authoritative and unbiased source of strategic analysis of global energy trends, current issues and markets. It is compiled by Dr. Birol’s team at the IEA in consultation with government officials, energy experts and consultants across the globe. Each WEO updates previous statistics and projections of global energy supply and demand, and then focuses in on a few current energy issues.

Recent editions of the WEO covered issues such as Russia’s energy prospects and their implications for global markets, the role of coal in driving economic growth in an emissions-constrained world; high-carbon infrastructure “lock-in” and the 2°C climate change goal and more.
