Carleton University’s Canadian Health Adaptations, Innovations & Mobilization (CHAIM) Centre hosts Firdaus Kharas, who will be presenting Using Laughter and Animation To Save Lives.

Kharas gets audiences laughing in seconds in order to make a serious point. He uses examples from his renowned prevention campaigns for HIV/AIDS, malaria, domestic violence and children’s rights to explain how he creates global campaigns seen by hundreds of millions of people.

About Firdaus Kharas 

Kharas is a social entrepreneur and humanitarian.  Through his company, Chocolate Moose Media, he produces animation, documentaries, films and television series designed to educate, entertain and change behaviour, particularly in relation to transmittable diseases, via a process he calls culture shift. In June 2015, Kharas received an honorary doctorate from Carleton in recognition of his innovative work as a social entrepreneur and for the advancement of public health and children’s rights in a global context.
